Policy Forum

AFG Policy Forum

AFG has a robust mechanism for the development of policy with direct input from our members. The biennial Policy Forum is comprised of the AFG Board of Directors and delegates from our 22 branches. The Forum has produced a range of policies that identify important areas for improving the resilience, viability and contribution of the private forestry sector. The Forum is also held so Branches can share their experiences, issues and concerns; to consider the strategic direction of AFG; and to provide a process that will allow further AFG policy to be developed for progression.

AFG Policy Forum 2011
AFG will be holding its fifth biennial Policy Forum in October 2011, to be held in conjunction with the organisation’s Annual General Meeting.  The Policy Forum will be held on 19 – 20 October and AFG hopes to meet the following goals at the Policy Forum:

  • Provide a process that will allow further AFG policy to be developed for progression;
  • Provide a forum to consider the strategic direction of AFG, including the possible realignment/structure of the Policy Forum and Board election mechanism; and
  • Provide a forum for Branches to share their experiences, issues and concerns.

The Policy Forum provides the opportunity for members to voice their opinion on policy issues of importance to them and help shape the future of the organisation.  To find out more about the 2011 AFG Policy Forum, contact AFG National Office on 02 6162 9000 or send an email.
