About the Branch
The Tasmania Branch of AFG
- holds a major annual field day for private forest growers, usually in Autumn;
- has an annual farm forestry dinner with guest speakers in Launceston in September/October at which the Tree Farmer Award is presented;
- holds an AGM in September/October;
- conducts the AFG Tree Farmer Award
Tasmanian Tree Farmer of the Year Award; and - AFG Tasmanian Study Fellowship (offered to members of AFG and their families). For more information about the Study Fellowship click on the link to the brochure below.

The Branch has close working relationships with Private Forests Tasmania, Gunns, Forest Enterprises Australia, Farmwood, the University of Tasmania, Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, Greening Australia and many private forest owners.
The Tasmanian Branch Executive meets 5 times regularly thoughout the year and advocates and represents private forest owners on regional and State issues.
